Quality First: Choose the Right Condom Supplier to Win Your Market

When you compete in the global intimate health market, it is very important to find a condom supplier who can provide good quality products with reasonable cost control. This will help you beat your competitors, and give your distributors a clear reason to buy goods from you.

We can learn a valuable lesson from the global PPE shortage during the COVID pandemic. After China got through the coronavirus outbreak, China donated masks, breathing machines and other protective supplies to friendly countries. These countries helped China in February 2020, including Japan, Russia, South Korea, Pakistan, Italy, Serbia and others. These high-quality Chinese protective products won good trust and reputation in local markets.

Later, many Chinese factories started to make protective goods and opened sales channels for foreign buyers and hospitals. But a new problem appeared. Many buyers had tight money. They hoped to buy as many protective items as possible with their limited budget. For example, a civilian mask cost about $0.2, a medical mask cost $0.4, and a KN95 mask cost $2. With a budget of $20,000, buyers could get 200,000 civilian masks, or 50,000 medical masks, or only 10,000 KN95 masks.

To get larger quantities, many buyers chose civilian masks. Some even used these civilian masks inside hospitals. This put doctors and nurses at risk. When medical workers found these masks could not meet medical standards and could not offer enough protection, they complained about products “Made in China”. This hurt the reputation of all Chinese manufacturers, and this is bad for all of us.

From the factory side: we can make products that meet medical standards. But if importers pick low-cost civilian-grade goods and use them in hospital settings, we cannot control this after delivery. The same thing happened with protective suits. Civilian protective clothing cost $10, while medical-grade ones cost $25. Most buyers chose cheaper civilian suits, even knowing they would be used in hospitals. We cannot make medical protective products at the low price of civilian goods. Keeping stable quality is our duty as a manufacturer. But we cannot control how and where buyers use our products after shipment.

The condom industry faces the same problem as masks and protective clothing. We do not want to take orders with unreasonably low prices. We always suggest our clients choose reliable, good-quality products. But many buyers keep asking for lower prices again and again. This price competition hurts everyone: factories, buyers and end users.

We have more than 15 years of experience making condoms. We have built long-term cooperation with buyers who value quality more than low prices. Their business keeps growing every year. However, buyers who only chase the lowest price usually cannot stay in business for long.

So, being a quality manufacturer and working with quality-focused buyers creates win-win results for all sides. For condom business, we advise our partners to pick qualified products. Good quality means fewer customer complaints in the future. If you buy very cheap condoms, you will face lots of claims from consumers. This will damage your brand reputation, and it will be hard for you to keep developing in this industry. In the condom market, only brands with stable quality can win more market share and keep customers’ trust.
